1st Day Biking by Quentin Adolphe

Today we are leaving to the Loire Valley from Paris.  And we are taking a bullet train to Loire Valley.  It will be very fast, about 200 miles per hour.  It will only take an hour and on the way there, we saw a lot of windmills.  The windmills were not going very fast.  When another train passed us, the train seemed very small.  The seats can go back and forth and were very comfortable.  The door to the bathroom was automatic and in the bathroom, it seemed very shaky.

When we arrived at Loire Valley, we met everyone that was going to bike with us in our group.  There were a lot of girls and not many boys.  We took a bus to our main meeting place, a wine cellar where we got to try some wine.  In France its legal for kids to have wine.  All the wine that stored was in a cave and the cave was very cold.

After that, we got our bikes adjusted and then the guides told us all of the safety rules and the taught us about the road signs in france.  Then she gave us a choice between a jell seat or regular seat.  Ben got a jell seat but I didn't.  Then we had to on the safety triangles around our waste so that the cars could see us. Then everyone got their stuff on and then we started to bike.  Mom wanted us to start last, but then we caught up, but we weren't in the front because the people in the front were very far away.

These bikes are titanimum so they felt very light for us, because our regular bikes are aluminum.  It felt very different for us, but I liked it.  The bike was bigger than my bike at home, but it still felt comfortable.  The past the first person and then we caught up to another family.  And then we past them and then this kid was going very fast at first, and then he slowed down because he didn't have the right pace.  He crashed a bit, and most of the time he was behind us.

Once we hit the country side there was a winery, it was very big.  Some parts the directions were hard and then a van from our crew came over and gave us some snacks and some water.  We had a long break.  Then we left and then there was this very hard hill that was hard to bike up.  Daddy and Jasmine had to walk it up, but me, Ben and Jacob was able to do it.  Then there was this other smaller hill, but because we had no energy, it was hard to do.

Then we stopped to wait for daddy and Jasmine and then there was a lot more wineries and a lot of grapes.  We barely saw any cars.  There were a lot of houses and I thought that there would be less.  And there were a lot towns.  Once we got to Amboise we went underground, it was very cool and the safety triangles were glowing.  Then we got stuck and couldn't find our way.  Then we saw on of the guides and she told us to turn left and we did.

Then we turned and then we walked our bikes all the way over to another road, we thought that we had to get off but we got back on our bikes and road until we found our hotel.

After we made it to the hotel, we checked in and then jumped straight into the pool.  It was 94 degrees outside and the pool felt very cold.

I'm really glad we came here, this is fun.
